Halloween is a relatively "new" holiday in France, and has been commercially
promoted for only the past five years. For many of our French friends,
it was their first costume Halloween party. Earlier in the week,
we had carved pumpkins at a friends' house, which was also a first-time
experience for many of our friends. Despite the lack of Halloween
experience, this year featured the best assortment of costumes that I have
ever seen at a Halloween party! Cecilia crafted her own "Little Red
Riding Hood" costume, and I made my own caveman outfit (after abandoning
the Miss Universe idea). The following are some of the great images
from the night.....

Thanks to Nathalie and Marie-Pierre, we had a great assortment of tarts
and chicken-salad. Unfortunately it did not last long....And thanks
to everyone who came, we actually had alcohol to spare at the end of the
party. I am also proud to say that my stereo speakers, which dated
back to 1989, did not make it past the end of the night. This is
always a good sign of a good party, and I am happy to make a speaker upgrade.
Despite the music and dancing, we received no complaints (so far) from
our neighbors and had no interruptions from the police. We'll see
what letters appear in our mailbox on Monday. A few images from later
in the night:
